METSTRADE, the world´s largest Marine Equipment Fair – took place in Amsterdam from the 14th to the 16th November – with around 1500 exhibitors. To mark the 30th anniversary of the B2B Trade Fair, Mark Schwabero, CEO of Brunswick, emphasized the fact that the nautical world is changing in a similar way to the automotive industry and the future is in connectivity. t-matix has set standards for the industry with its user-friendly product “Connect it Boat” as well as its international service and distribution network. Boat manufacturers profit from the custom creation of apps and web applications specifically designed according to customer requirements as well as from the enormously powerful platform in the background. Owners can easily connect to their boat via an iOS or Android app and have all the information in real time on their smartphone. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the apps offer, for example: the location of the boat, the battery status and the statistics of the bilge pump, a history of the trips with a map and alarms. In the background, the manufacturer has web applications for device management, product information, service applications, connectivity management, billing, and much more at his disposal. In this way, t-matix can present the future today – that’s IoT at the next level!
