From 18-20 November 2020, scientists and experts discussed waste management and waste technology issues at Recy & DepoTech, the largest waste management conference in Austria. In the “Smart Sorting” track, ATM Recyclingsystems and TU Graz showed a joint presentation with t-matix on how the Internet of Things can change business models for traditional machine and plant manufacturers in recycling and waste management. The speakers also pointed out that the use of IoT can generate a sustainable added value for the customer. In particular, the presentation illustrated how the implementation of the t-matix IoT-platform, including a mobile app for the visualization of operating data, facilitates the optimization of cycle times and energy consumption of the plants and thus increases efficiency.
